The young actress admitted that because it's been a while since their last project together, she and Sam experienced some awkward moments during their first filming days.
"Hindi maiiwasan 'yong kapag unang sabak sa eksena, may awkwardness. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako titingin kung kailangang magtitigan," Anne told the media present during their pictorial for the film held at the ABS-CBN compound yesterday, March 8.
However, Anne said that this feeling passed quickly and they managed to feel comfortable with each other while on the set. "I think, nagwo-work kasi na ang haba ng pahinga namin—hindi kami nagkikita, hindi kami nag-uusap. Well, siyempre noong nagsama na kami ulit, I think we're both excited. Kasi, 'yong huli naming project was Dyosa. Dyosa ang pinaka-last, which was almost a year ago. So, after a year, we're finally working together."
Aside from Dyosa, the two young actors also worked together in the two-part TV series Maging Sino Ka Man. Sam promised moviegoers that they would show something new in their upcoming movie.
With the same director they had in Maging Sino Ka Man, Mae Czarina Cruz, the actor said they were tasked not to repeat what they already did in their previous teleserye.
He said, "She really knows us. Kilalang-kilala na niya kami. Laging siya ang kasama namin sa Maging Sino Ka Man. Parang she already knows how we [work]. She even knows us. 'Yon ang gusto ko dito dahil alam niya ang mga ginagawa namin sa mga nuances namin. She wants us to show something different. So, she doesn't want, you know, the things we did before."
One thing that moviegoers should look forward to in this film is their intimate scene, which they haven't filmed yet.
"Isu-shoot pa lang," related Anne. "Lahat pa lang ng major scenes na... Ngayon kasi 'yong sinu-shoot namin ay parang build up papunta doon sa deeper na mga eksena, mga confrontations. So para siyang journey talaga na pinagdadaanan namin—from the aso't pusa, biglang nasa kilig scenes na kami."
Speaking of "cat and dog moments," the two did not deny that they experienced being antagonistic towards each other during some of their shooting days.
"Minsan, masyadong kumportable na, [nagkakaroon] ng cat-dog days," said Sam.
Anne said that these little misunderstandings weren't really normal for most artists. But she said it could also be just natural because the two of them romantic relationship in the past. Sam agreed with her by saying, "Pero actually, 'yong mga days na 'yon, it really worked."
Then, Anne recalled, "Tsumamba kasi kung kelan kami magkaaway or nagkatampuhan, 'yon 'yong mga eksenang nagsisigawan kami. So, nag-work. Si Direk parang, 'Good take.' [laughs]"
Meanwhile, Sam also mentioned that he would be doing a fight scene in this movie because his character is an architecture professor who holds a black belt in taekwondo. "It's something that I did that I've never done in movies and TV sa fight scene, sobrang proud ako," he added. Meanwhile, Anne will portray a promo girl in this movie.
