WITH theme “75 years of giving hope, faith, and love to millions,” Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will celebrate its anniversary with Pangarap Kong Jackpot Trilogy.
Directed by Carlo J. Caparas and Toto Natividad, three true to life stories will each star boxing champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, veteran actor Eddie Garcia, and ABS-CBN talent Jake Cuenca.
Manny will play the part of Abel in “Sa Ngalan ng Busabos,” an orphan who was thrown to jail in a young age and was able to live a new life only after he met a poor family.
On the second story “Hawak Kita, Hawak Mo Ko,” Jake will play the character of Alvin and will meet Eula (Megan Young) when both of them were too desperate to end their lives.
In “Hiwaga ni Lolo Hugo,” Eddie portrayed the character of an old caretaker name Lolo Hugo who oversees an old mansion which was believed to be haunted by evil sprits.
The trilogy will also feature Gina Pareno, Tommy Abuel, Joel Torre, Pen Medina, Baron Geisler, Mark Herras and many more.
The children of Donna Villa and Carlo J. Caparas -- Cj and Peach -- will have a special participation too.
According to Villa, they are hopeful that this latest offering of them will help revive the dying Filipino movie industry.
Eddie meanwhile believes that with good storyline, we can compete with foreign films.
“I think the Filipino producers should create movies with beautiful plot so that we can at least compare it to the standards that of foreign films. We need not create themes that are overdone already,” he said.
Jake, when asked, said he was overwhelmed by the opportunity to work with Manny and Eddie.
“It’s an honor for me to be part of this. Tito Eddie is my idol as well as Manny, and I’m very happy that I was able to be part of this project).” Jake said.
Director Caparas was all praises for Jake’s acting skills. “Jake is a good actor even in his young age. He can really go far because he can do well both in action and drama.”
Carlo J. and Donna Villa also thanked PCSO for helping them in making this movie possible.
